DINNER WITH MATTHEW FOX
Historic Casa Feliz (“Happy House”) at
656 Park Avenue North, Winter Park, Florida
On Thursday, January 31, 2013, a very special benefit evening for GladdeningLight was held in one of downtown Winter Park’s most storied homes, Casa Feliz. Built in 1932 in the style of an Andalusian farmhouse, Casa Feliz stands as the most celebrated achievement of noted architect James Gamble Rogers II and is now a cherished parlor museum for the city. Wine, hors d’oeuvres and dinner afforded guests the intimacy to engage 2013 Symposium speaker and beloved teacher Matthew Fox from Oakland, CA. It was also an opportunity to meet fiber artist Marni Goldshlag, watercolorist Fred Westbrook , gouache & oil painter John Wells and hear artists River Guerguerian and Chris Rosser perform.
“I love the language of heart/spirit/art and the way Matt (Fox) is putting it into action in the world.”
– Susan Sherwood
The evening’s proceeds supported GladdeningLight’s ongoing mission to celebrate the intersection of faith and art through conferences, retreats and spiritual pilgrimage. Arthur’s Creative Events & Catering served an agapē meal to celebrate the ideal of coming together in loving community at table.
