The Posture of Harmony

A participatory art project with Trinity Preparatory School in collaboration with Rollins College to create a large scale light installation for the exterior of Knowles Memorial Chapel

Saturday Evening, February 10, 2024

The day began with a guided tour of Rollins Museum of Art’s exhibition Transformations at 3:00 pm on Saturday followed by Spiritual Spaces from the Bach Festival Choir & Orchestra.  GladdeningLight greeted 250 guests after the concert in the Rice Family Pavilion for refreshments and artist remarks before moving en masse back to Knowles Memorial Chapel for the video reveal, The Posture of Harmony.

Light installation artist Karen Brummund, in an open studio, worked with Trinity Prep students to craft subject matter for video projection onto the chapel facade.  In a community build the week of February 5, 2024 with seventh graders, participating hands transformed the fabrication into fragments of light.  The resulting Posture of Harmony imagery gave shape to the generative presence of community, intent and presentation.
